Israel is in the grip of a locust invasion. Farmers are seeing their crops gobbled up in minutes - and some people are taking a novel approach to pest control. Eating them.

1. People in that region have been eating locusts

for a very, very long time. It's even in the Bible, where the locust is declared OK to eat. If the locusts eat your grain, eat the locusts. It just makes sense.

I am pretty sure I could eat locusts. Tried a fried grasshopper when I was younger, just for fun, it wasn't too bad.

and I've eaten roasted crickets with legs...

In my opinion, served with ice cold vodka, they are on a par with live goldfish.
