Westboro Equality House: Aaron Jackson Paints Rainbow Home Across From Anti-Gay Church

The Westboro Baptist Church is about to get a big surprise in the form of a new neighbor who plans to give the notoriously anti-gay group a taste of its own medicine.

Aaron Jackson, one of the founders of Planting Peace, a multi-pronged charity that has in the past concentrated on rainforest conservation, opening orphanages and deworming programs, bought a house that sits directly across from the church's compound six months ago. On Tuesday, March 19, he and a team of volunteers are painting it to match the gay pride flag.

The project -- which the nonprofit is calling the "Equality House" -- is the first in a new campaign Planting Peace plans to wage against the group. Westboro is known for its intimidating tactics of protesting (or threatening to protest) what they refer to as America's pro-gay, anti-God agenda, in close proximity to pride parades, soldier funerals and other events like the Sandy Hook memorial services.

"I read a story about Josef Miles, a 10-year-old kid who counter-protested the Westboro Baptist Church by holding the sign that says 'God Hates No One,'" Jackson told The Huffington Post.

1. Part of me says 'pay no mind' to these bigots...

that acts of disobedience against them only emboldens their tactics.

However another part of me wants to scream "NEENER! NEENER! NEE--NER!"

2. I'm waiting for someone to pull the tax exemption from these WBC grifters...

They have had an unfair advantage with that system - and abused it.

This is perfect for them to have their space invaded by the property owners nearby. WBC shows no respect for any personal boundaries.

With their cartoon posters of someone bending over like a dog, where are the anti-pornography forces at? Really, the offense is all on their side, isn't it?

I can think of good things that will come out of this, the first being giving them a taste of how it feels to have someone in your space. I don't approve of that in general, but asking them to play nicely with grieving families hasn't worked. This is the logical outcome of their tromping around the country raising hell.

They have done more with their hatred than many other things for equality. Oh, the irony.

Hell it's way past time for a good majority of these hate groups, er, churches, to lose their tax exempt status.

I wonder if the other neighbors will be glad for this - I would be if I lived in that neighborhood. End the hate circus!
