it is anything to brag about since my little voice was drowned out all those years ago.
Thankfully I had DU to come to and my lone voice joined with so many others who had been ignored in those early dark days after Bush stole an election. Together we made things change for the better in '08.
I propose we stay together and work to do what is right by those who bore the brunt of the wrong decisions made by Bush and Cheney (looking around the numbers are huge). Slowly but surely we will turn this mess around and silence those loud, lying, haters who are still out there trying to bring the US down from the inside.

(14,524 posts)... isn't just being "brought down" by "loud, lying, haters," friend. It's being brought down to an even larger degree by the huge gap between us and the 1%. That keeps widening all the time. Devastating, grinding, soul crushing poverty is killing us, and to be blunt, almost no one in a position to do something about it, gives one shit enough to do so.

(37,573 posts)back when Bush had 90% approval rating, many DUers were proud to have been part of the 10% that NEVER approved of George W. Bush.
But I think it was 10% and NOT 1%, which makes the OP sound like a rich person rather than a person always disapproving of Bush.
Are you saying that this person doesn't know what calling themselves a 1%er denotes in today's terms? Are you serious?

(37,573 posts)"since my little voice was drowned out all those years ago. "
The voice of the 10%ers was drowned out, not the voice of the 1%ers.
"Thankfully, I came to DU and joined with others."
Other 1%ers or other 10%ers.
The body of the OP does not make sense in the context of 1%, but it does make sense in the context of 10%.
But who ever said that a post on DU needed to make sense?
Time will tell if I am right or wrong. I give it 24 business hours.

(5,937 posts)who happened to just grow up in much more privileged family than I was. I thought I was right to point out how much better he had it than my brother and I did growing up. We were barely 20 then. Now 20 years later I realized it was a rotten thing to do, and I apologized to him for it. He didn't even remember, and when he asked what I was aplogozing for I told him it was for making you feel bad for the hard work and success your family had. He is now a doctor too and researcher.
I want to add I used "privileged" as how I saw it back then. My attitude has changed since then.
