The plight of Kurds in Syria. Thousands of Kurds fled across the border to Iraq.

Riots in the mainly Kurdish city of Qamishli in 2004 were crushed by security forces. Rights groups say at least 30 people were killed in that crackdown.

Al Jazeera's Jane Arraf reports from Moqableh in Iraq, where some of them are still living in refugee camps.
