Two girls charged with threatening Steubenville rape victim

Two 16-year-old girls are in custody after making threats against the victim in the Steubenville rape case in Ohio, according to local media reports.

The two teens, both Steubenville residents, allegedly threatened to assault and kill the victim via Twitter.

WTRF.com reported that one teen turned herself in, while the other one was arrested by authorities. The two girls are being held in the Jefferson County Juvenile Detention Center.

They face aggravated menacing charges.

More here...

Didn't FOX release the victims name? I bet these girls parents are Republicans.

7. I agree. 16 year olds should know better, even at their age. People don't seem to have

any hesitancy to threaten death these days over electronic devices. But, I lay some blame on the parents, most 16 year old don't go out and threaten to kill someone, even electronically.

They threaten the victim with further debasement because..........???

I just had someone's mother, a woman about my age, tell me that all 600 billion of Canada's deficit is because of out-of-control social spending...and no-one can tell her different, so she'll keep on believing that's the case regardless of the fact that the statistics prove her wrong. The same woman informed me that Transcanada won't destroy the environment, no matter what I show her. Her son was the one who tried to tell me that rape isn't control, it's sex. Oh, really. That's a new 'friend' that isn't. That, by the way, is the second one this month who tried to maintain that welfare recipients aren't really vulnerable, they're just lazy and/or criminals.

I had a young woman this week, after I pointed out that her last six posts were abusing fat people and that it appeared she was suffering from the last socially acceptable prejudice, tell me that it wasn't true, she had fat friends. Rigggght. Sure.

Either I'm becoming a grumpy old woman, or the ignorance and bigotry and utter stupidity on display this week is worse than usual.

I'm inclined to think it's the latter, but I might be wrong.

woman, it's just that Republican/conservatives seem to be doubling down on becoming even dumber.

What do you expect from these "uninformed" people when their leaders and their hero Rush Limbaugh keep repeating these lies to them.

Their anger has been propelled to a new level like never before, and the only way they seem to be able to vent is by spewing vitriol and hateful rhetoric at the President and anyone who agrees with him.

Just watching the clips of Sarah Palin at CPAC (shown on MSNBC) is enough to realize these people are really whacko.

I know there are people who blame the victim and even though they're wrong it is still possible to follow the train of thought of the victim blamers. But how they get from there to being so angry at the victim that they threaten her life is just not computing.
