Depending on whose version you believe, lightning-rod rookie Republican Congressman Allen West's decision to abandon Broward constituents and his current district for the friendlier confines of northern Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie County is either a brilliant tactical move (West's spin) or a sign of pure cowardice (the spin from his jilted former opponents Lois Frankel and Patrick Murphy).

It's definitely a bit of both, but there's no denying it looks like a retreat from a Tea Party favorite and former Army officer who likes to talk tough.
