I wonder what happens to his soul when he's put in the position to throw more red meat on issues like gun control, or cutting funding for CHIP, or pre-school for all.
The premier Neurosurgeon of Johns Hopkins knows better than anyone else the devastation gun violence has wracked on children. He's seen when gun shot wounds to the head does to children and their families in the trauma bay. How does Ben Carson justify loosening gun laws after spending a career treating patients for the damage they cause?
I wonder what happens to his conscience when asked if its the right think to do to rob millions of children of healthcare. He works in Baltimore, and has seen for himself the consequences of poverty, and must realize that children are affected by poverty more than anyone in this country.
As a physician, Ben Carson makes me sick. I read his biography in high school and found it to be an inspirational story to pursue medicine. Now he's nothing more than a burnt out Uncle Tom sell out who probably can't hold a scapel steady enough to operate, or has spent too much of the past 2 decades promoting himself, instead of maintaining his skills.
Ben Carson, you are a washout and a disgrace. FUCK YOU and the conservative garbage you so proudly associate yourself with!

(11,304 posts)office and doesn't agree with gun control then he really has thrown his Hippocratic oath out the window. But he also seems to embrace religion. It's fine as long as he doesn't combine religion and politics.

(3,697 posts)I was a board member at the time and fully supported his selection as the keynoter. I too found his story inspirational at the time. It is hard to understand how he has evolved into a right wing nut given his background as a poor kid raised by a single mother and his scientific training. I'm sure his success was helped along by many of the same programs that republicans want to dismantle now. What a disappointment.

(10,283 posts)w/o having done even a tiny bit of biographical research on him, I have assumed that he is lying down with (mangy) dogs in the hope that they will make him the leader of their pack. He may be correct but he will certainly be a mangy, flea-bitten leader.
