Tracy Morgan's mom claims he won't help her avoid foreclosure

It's only February, and thus far 2012 is not looking like Tracy Morgan's year.
First, the comedian/actor was hospitalized at the Sundance Film Festival (altitude sickness, perhaps?). (He's since returned to work at "30 Rock."
Today's issue? He's being dunned by his family for being unwilling to help his mother stave off foreclosure, according to the New York Daily News.
Morgan's mother Alicia Warden lives in Ohio, and she and Tracy are considered estranged -- the Daily News reported last week that she learned of her son's recent hospitalization from the Internet. Warden, 61, lost her job a year ago and according to her daughter Asia Morgan (Tracy's younger sister), "Her health is failing. She has diabetes, and her legs are giving out on her. This would be a drop in the bucket for Tracy. She has a son that can do, and she's done everything that she possibly could for her family."

His own mother...honestly...did she murder someone, Tracy? Is she that bad? If you can't stand her, just send her the money and be done with it. What a p**ck.

(3,690 posts)Churches only, should help the poor. The ER is the place that rightfully provides health care. What if you are an orphan?
What if your family are rethugs? Hoping you learn your liberal lesson? I have a rich grandfather, and he would not piss on you if you were on fire. He talks openly about the family being sponges, although he doesnt pay a red cent. Lords his toys over all of us.
Has a son who needs health care. Badly. And he was his shop foreman/manager for many years. When he sold the business, he gave the company truck to him, then, took the truck, and gave it to the new owners.
Having to depend of family is a route that includes stigma, hassle, hard feelings on both sides. Fuck the society that leaves all charity to charities, or family.

Some people just don't want help - their pride gets in the way.

(16,327 posts)who beat the crap out of him when he was a kid. I know adults who will have NOTHING to do with their families -- this is usually from ugly circumstances growing up.

Don't believe everything you read.....especially if it's about a celebrity.

(115,103 posts)I'm not sure that you understand what you're asking for.
To say that someone who was treated that way as a child should just 'be a better person' is the ideal situation, but in reality the emotional scars that are left by growing up in that kind of environment sometimes never heal, and the willingness to have the abuser in your life is in no way related to passing on a legacy.

(36,827 posts)I don't believe family members are automatically granted respect simply because of a blood or marriage arrangement. If you treat your kids like shit and they don't want to have anything to do with you when they grow up, that in no way reflects poorly on the son or daughter.
