after my wife had been teaching in a Catholic School for 12 years and we were married for 17 years, the priest came to her and told that we had to get re-married in the Catholic Church or else she would be fired. We were married by my foster dad who is a Lutheran pastor, but that didn't count.

Just try getting a previous Lutheran marriage annulled by the Catholic Church (I speak from experience).

By the way, that's "Bullshit" to the priest, not to you.

When my wife first started working for the Archdiocese the priest in charge had no problem wife our wedding being solomnized by a Lutheran clergyman. However when he left this new conservative dude came in and that's when the shit started. She eventually was fired for having our daughter baptized in a Lutheran Church and yes we no longer worship with a Roman Catholic faith community.

Let see. Your Lutheran marriage was between 2 people who were not Catholic-Right?

That is considered valid. On the other hand if a Catholic marries a Lutheran by a Lutheran minister that marriage is not considered valid by the Catholic Church.

It is possible that it would have to go before the tribunal but it would not be a annulment process.
