Why do the Republicans not mention the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

Last edited Sat Mar 16, 2013, 08:06 PM - Edit history (1)

in their platform? Why do they promote programs like Ability One, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and Employment First. Why are these programs preferable to republicans over the ADA?

Added by edit: Looks to me like the ADA is compelling to businesses and employers to make accommodations for the disabled while the programs favored by the Republicans are funded by taxpayers and train the disabled and train employers as to the value of hiring the disabled. Nothing to compel the improvement of conditions for the disabled.

Republicans think everyone that is not rich should have a job and work hard no matter what their medical situation is. And if you have a heart attack or something you should get to work preferably while still in the hospital recovering or the day you are discharged. Disabilities in their minds don't actually exist anyone who really wants to work can work. So, if you are not working it's just because you don't want to.

Notice how republicans are only upset that the rich and wealthy can't do a White House tour? They have no concept that the poor, disabled, those with the least, are suffering. Jesus is on our side.
