Let's say there is a situation where two men and a woman are interacting and one man behaves in a sexist way. Would it be sexist for the other man to intervene or publicly object? Would that not be disempowering the female present that was the victim of the sexist conversation? Should we as men wait for the woman to defend herself or are we behaving in our own sexist way by defending her and objecting to the sexist speech of the man being a sexist?
Just curious what people think.

(24,096 posts)I think a friend would stick up for another friend in almost any circumstance. Probably would be a welcome thing to hear another man put down a sexist remark from a man. We don't hear this often enough because men are afraid they will be cast out of the herd if they step over certain lines.
But mileage varies, and the fact that even women are individual human beings, you may get different responses and reactions.
