Why isn't there an LPAC?

I'm getting so sick of reading about the multi-day CPAC where ultra conservative assholes spew their hate, lies, and idiocy. Why can't we have a Liberal Political Action Committee?

Studies have shown that people agree with the liberal point of view when it's presented without party label. And the more people are educated about a given issue, the more they side with the liberal argument (once again, with no Democratic or Republican label). The Democrats and other liberals do such a poor job at public relations that it's a wonder we ever win any elections at all. Maybe if we have a major five day convention every year with the liberal heavy hitters giving our side of the story, we'd have a better chance of taking back this country.

Fox and Rush would whine about how it was just a branch of the librul media, and no one would cover it to prove them wrong.

Other than that, damn good question.

I was, however, wondering the same thing this morning. I suspect even if such an event were organized, it would get nowhere near the coverage this Crazy Clanklave has received.

How about just some well spoken politicians who can articulate the liberal viewpoint?

But your comment makes me think of something else, that of finding enough people who'd be willing to come to a national convention and proclaim themselves to be "Liberal." Ever since Reagan, Gingrich, and Limbaugh villainized the term "liberal" back in the 80s and 90s, politicians have been afraid the use that term to describe themselves, whereas Republicans fall over each other to proclaim themselves to be the most conservative. How many times have we heard Republicans running for office say that they are the "true conservative"? When was the last time you heard a Democrat say the same?
