Weld County Sheriff John Cooke said he wont enforce either gun-control measure waiting to be signed into law by Gov. John Hickenlooper, saying the laws are unenforceable and would give a false sense of security.
One bill passed Friday would expand requirements to have background checks for firearm purchases. Hickenlooper is expected to sign it into law within two weeks.
Earlier this week, Colorado lawmakers approved a 15-round limit on ammunition magazines. It also is awaiting the expected approval of the governor.

(9,822 posts)right-wing base with this sort of political posturing. We've got one here in Oregon, pretending to stand up to the "politicians" - and the next thing you know he's on a show with Glenn Beck.

(18,318 posts)they are charged with enforcing state laws as they are "creatures" of the state. His attitude may go into the same bucket as a deputy who tells someone to flush the joint or be arrested.

Maybe the state police can run a sting on him.
