1. I don't see any violence or anything the OPD claimed.

My only real concern was when they raised and waved it while burning, in those close confines people could have been hurt if the flag bits got airborne as embers often do.

I can't believe how many on here seem to care what wingers think about civil disobedience.

There are far more people who are part of the 99% that we should care about. Their reactions are important.

If we cater to the ignorance of people who can't recognize the realities of today in the USA and the appropriate reasons for burning the flag, we're screwed.

Fox News watchers are not the only people who need to be reached. Fox News watchers probably aren't going to respond to anything. That leaves a huge part of the general population, though, who are still part of the 99%.

12. My mother watches Fox news and I care about what she thinks

Despite what she hears from them (she's 82), she's slowly been coming around to understanding the message of OWS. Flag burning is the worng message, especially taking into account the spin Fox and other repub outlets put on it.

And it's not just Fox Network. Hundreds of local news shows pick up the same footage and add there own opinions. Millions see it, and we should all care about that.

It was dumb stunt that played perfectly into the hands of the 1% (It was so dumb I wonder if it was staged by infiltrators).

your mother from her choice to remain uninformed and ignorant. I don't see how that's OWS's responsibility before it is yours. You want her to think better, then talk to her about the realities and reasons some might burn the flag, don't bow to her FNC fed ignorance.
