Toomey: Left Caused Financial Crisis

Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) argued Thursday that it was liberal, big government policies which caused the financial crisis and the Great Recession, but that Republicans had failed during the 2012 elections to make that point.

Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference in suburban Washington, D.C., Toomney recalled how President Obama campaigned against Mitt Romney by saying America should not return to the policies that brought on the financial crisis.

"It was the left that got us into this mess, that's a fact," Toomey said. But, he added, the GOP failed to explain that in 2012 and therefore lost.

The Repubbies trash the frikken economy and then whine and bawl and try to pin the blame on others.

What immoral unethical a-holery. As usual. And the Repubbies wonder why the American people think they are slimebags.

It isn't that they didn't try this, its that the general population isn't as dumb as the CPAC audience.

There is a substantial portion of the US population that will believe this BS without caring enough to even try Google.

We still have a LOT of work to do! DO NOT forget it!

who cut taxes when there was a shortfall. It was operated by republicans unless he is calling them liberals now. Tomney should spend the next year studying what has happened and then get up and say it was the republican congress and republican president who spent us into the next several generations. George W never met a dollar he did not want to spend and had plans to spend those still being printed. He was very consistant, he sent two companies to ruins and he did the same with the USA.

Wait a minute, he doesn't represent PA, he represents the GOP in PA. How the hell did he get elected? And I live in PA.

when Fox News puts a picture of George W. Bush on the screen, they put a (D) behind his name, like they do every time a Republican gets arrested, caught in a sex scandal, or otherwise fucks up.
