Poll: How long will it take before MSNBC replaces Chris Hayes with someone else?

MSNBC is replacing Ed with Chris

I for one will not be watching him.

It seems like that time-slot gets changed quite often, so how long do ya'll think Hayes will last?

1. Wow. I know some people like him because he's wonky...

...but he has zero gravitas IMHO - He's not an anchor, he's a commentator. I don't think he'll do well in the ratings. I guess they couldn't find any new top-tier talent despite the likelihood that Ed Schultz gave them good notice. I'm not sure Martin Bashir could have held on to the audience, but at least he's entertaining.

This is gonna suck.

12. I was hoping they'd choose one of their most excellent contributors. They have a very deep bench.

My personal choice was Joy Ann Reid, but alas. Or, they could rotate between them in that slot, but it would probably be difficult to build an audience with rotating anchors.

13. 'Rotating anchors' would be ten times more interesting than having Chris Hayes on every night :) n/t

6. As soon as he makes a mistake and champions workers and the poor. All hosts tread carefully.

They are allowed just enough leeway to sucker independents and liberals into listening for the rest of the dreckt. People keep asking why these 'liberal' shows have regressive guests on their programs, why they have to entertain has-been neo-cons and not refuse. They can't say no or they lose their jobs. If they argue, they are put on a panel with various conservatives to make them appear weak and shrill as they struggle to get a word in during the bullying session. MSNBC is more subtle than O'Reilly or Hannity cutting off mikes or yelling. But it's the exact technique, marginalized, made to appear odd or confused. We have some that can go on and not be run straight off the shows but they already censor their words, knowing the meme. If they dare to go anywhere near anything opposing what the owners want, they are hooted at by panels as lunatics. It's all a part of keeping voices out while pretending to offer different views. I stopped watching the rigged psychological trap a long time ago but people really want to know what is going in the world. I'm not buying it.

5 to 7 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. Four whole hours! Two hours right after all the Sunday talk shows!

8. MSNBC

I think it is great that MSNBC is expanding the weekend programs. I think that Ed is fine with this as he has a wife battling a serious disease. Chris should be great & Ed will do a wonderful job on the weekends. My two favorites are Lawrence & Martin!!! MSNBC prime time lineup enjoyed high ratings & was a major factor in the Democrats winning in 2012.

All ratings across the board are down right now. Sort of in a political off season. This is why I think they are doing the change. Sounds like Ed also wants the change. Chris has been adding viewers so maybe this change will help ratings.

I love him on Sat. and Sun. mornings, but I also love the format and the fresh voices and faces on the panels. They bring a lot of information to me that I wouldn't find on any other show.

I like Ed but really, he isn't that smart. I love Chris for his being willing to have republicans on his panels and taking them on without rancor but not giving them a pass either.

Like a lot of bright Ivy Leaguers, Chris thinks fast and talks fast. This is just their thing. I think it turns some people off, but I see it quite often in New Haven, where I live and hear Yalies expound a lot...

Chris has new ideas and is brilliantly progressive. Ed is a good Dem and I love him for it, but he's a bit too flat footed in the way he makes his points.

Chris is also kind of adorable! He had Paul Krugman on his show and I was in heaven! Love those two men...

hes got a snooze factor. I would have moved Martin or Tamryn into Eds spot or found someone new and edgy.
