Rubio: Denying Marriage To Gays ‘Does Not Make Me A Bigot’

Rubio: Denying Marriage To Gays ‘Does Not Make Me A Bigot’

By Igor Volsky

Marco Rubio complained about his critics during a speech before the Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC) on Thursday afternoon, saying that Democrats didn’t “respect” him or his policy positions.

Rubio joked about his much-publicized sip of water during the GOP response to President Obama’s State of the Union address and appeared on stage with a tray of water glasses, before complaining about feeling judged for opposing marriage equality, access to reproductive health care services, and the science behind climate change — suggesting that his positions should be respected no matter how out of step with society they are:

RUBIO: I respect people who disagree with me on certain things, but that means they have to respect me too. Just because I believe states should have the right to define marriage in a traditional way does not make me a bigot. Just because we believe that life, all human life, all life, all human life is worth of protection in every stage of its development doesn’t make you a chauvinist. In fact, the people who are actually close minded in American politics are people who love to preach about the certainty of science in regard to our climate, but ignore the absolute fact that life begins at conception.

Living proof that Rubio is as dumb as a rock.

1) Bigot: Noun. A person who is utterly intolerant of any differing opinion.

See...it's about the utterly thing. He's says he is NOT UTTERLY intolerant. He tells us his tolerance is traded in a a quid pro quo transaction

2) Bigot: Noun: A person, say R, who argues that others, say GLBTQ, with different beliefs shouldn't have identical civil rights as R because the GLBTQ would misuse those rights according to the beliefs of R.

9. Remeber, he's "not a scientist" and "who can say the Earth isn't 6,000 years old." It's a MYSTERY!

Like the tides, which no one knows what causes them.

Oh, and Rubio? It DOES make you a bigot.

And "life" began 4 billion years ago. Sperms and unfertilized eggs are alive, too.

Because it most certainly does.

(And no one denies 'life' begins at conception. In fact I'm quite sure my eggs and my husbands sperm are, strictly speaking, 'life')
