Question about UK's national health plan, and Clive Burr.

Burr was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, the treatment of which left him deeply in debt. Iron Maiden staged a series of charity concerts and were involved in the founding of the Clive Burr MS Trust Fund.[6] Burr used a wheelchair because of his condition.

Does the UK's national health plan have something like a lifetime maximum they will pay out? Apparently, it doesn't pay everything.

Rather than paid for through the health service, those will normally be paid for by the local authority - if they pay for them at all.If you follow the link from the Wikipedia page, you find:

Today, the man who provided the frantic but always distinctive and highly original rhythmic backbone that ran through Iron Maiden’s first three albums is in a wheelchair. Sometimes, just getting out of bed to face another new day is a struggle. “I do get tired,” he says. “I can’t always do what I want to do.” His drums are in the garage at his specially adapted house in Wanstead, east London, which he shares with his partner Mimi, a former Sundayschool teacher who also has MS.
...
“They bought me a vehicle...” He pauses. “Meeeeeeeemes, what car is it again?” he shouts. “We call it the Clivemobile. It’s a Volkswagen Caddy with blacked-out windows. It’s like an American gangster’s car. They’ve put concerts on to raise money, not just for me but for other people with MS. They put a stair-lift in our house.

And it may also have involved, for instance, paying off the mortgage on the house. He's unable to work, and his partner probably is too, since she's just described as "a former Sundayschool teacher".
