(16,993 posts)He had to consider his personal safety, as well as the safety of friends and family, also possible job loss, loss of anonymity, and a huge backlash from the right. He is a true patriot.

(10,044 posts)But his moral compass works so well that an even an honest employer might have problems for fear of being exposed for the smallest wrong...
An honest employer would understand that Prouty isn't "out to get" anyone. This was an extreme situation that he thought hard about before exposing. I think many employers would LOVE to have someone as conscientious as Scott Prouty.

(72,631 posts)He will always have a smile and a beer awaiting him at my house if he ever needs it. Many thanks to him. He is a latter day Thomas Paine and his common sense and courage may have saved America from psycho who would ultimately have out sourced American democracy, probably to North Korea. sorry I am giving psycho's a bad name but I needed a telling analogy.

(1 post)Scott Prouty's intelligence, and courage, to not only recognize how important it is (was) to listen intently to what the other party candidate running for the highest office in this country had to say and what his thought process is/still is, and then to capture it & later recognize the importance of what he had just heard, and had on video.......nothing short of miraculous.
Obama's campaign was in trouble, the polling was almost neck to neck before this video, from the other candidate's own mouth.....his own verbalizing his disgust w/regards to 47% of us Americans..........well, if one looks back at the polling numbers, this was the game-changer without question. Scott, you sir, are a real honest-to-real, good and decent human being and American who cares. Peace and blessings to you, Mr Prouty, and may the wind be at your back.

A certain percentage will not believe it unless you show it to them.
They got their wish and may have changed their vote
Is there a group anyone knows sending him a group signature THANK YOUs petition style?
I would sign it but I hope he already knows how many people are thankful for his courage!

(32,062 posts)many of us who have worked for very wealthy folks have heard them utter things worse than what Romney said. I really give him credit for releasing it - that was a tough thing to do.

(662 posts)He came out because he sees that Romney is trying to resurface once again as a man of the people, when we all know that he is not.
And I have to agree, what made me so appalled by Romney's remarks was the view he had of the Chinese factory he visited. He was impressed that the young women were so willing to work for pittance, that the squalor they lived in was acceptable and he accepted the garbage that the barbed wired fences and armed guards were there to keep the trespassers out.
Prouty said it, he could be investing in AM, bringing jobs back to the towns that BAIN CAPITAL raided and instead promotes himself as an AMERICAN with no loyalty to America.

(14,177 posts)He really thought the China thing would get people to take notice. So, did I. I actually thought the 47% bit was mild in comparison to Romney's story about his visit to a Chinese factory. Romney really does approve of slave labor and he really would like to bring that here.

(402 posts)That's what struck me the most about this man. Decent... Unselfish. Moral. I watched his interview with Ed Schultz last night and those were things that came to my mind then and today while watching the continuing coverage. This man did not think about himself at all. He only looked at Mitt Romney and determined that this information needed to be made public. He didn't editorialize it ....he just made it available. Too bad that there aren't more people like him.
