I don't accept the view that Prouty won the election - he destroyed Rmoney but Obama was always going to win.
Axelrod et al had already made the case against Rmoney

Remember they had him singing America the beautiful while exporting jobs, closing factories and hiding money in the Cayman islands. Prouty was the icing on the cake

Everything seemed to fall into place just right for Obama; it was as though he had a guardian angel sitting on top of his campaign.
