(30,151 posts)Back in the early 90's there were three bridges on Old Lemay Ferry Road that if you hit them about 70-80mph you could get air for 50 feet LOL...
One late night we hit one, landed wrong/bad and rolled the car....That was probably the closest to dying we were...
We were able to roll the car back over, but broke an engine mount so used a scissor jack to brace it again and went on our way. They REALLY sucky part was all the damn oil that leaked onto the interior of the roof dripping on us (no headliner of course )
Since then the county has fixed all those bridges unfortunately so no more jumps, but still a great riding road-

Finding the right roads does lead to glories, but also to some pretty sketchy situations too.

(5,068 posts)WARREN, Ohio Two teens who escaped a crash that killed six friends in a swampy pond wriggled out of the wreckage by smashing a rear window and swimming away from the SUV, a state trooper said Monday.
The inside of the sport utility vehicle was entirely under water within minutes of the crash, said State Highway Patrol Lt. Brian Holt.
Investigators don't yet know why the eight were in the speeding vehicle without permission when it smashed into a guardrail and flipped over into the pond Sunday morning around daybreak, Holt said.

A ride that turned into tragedy. They think the girl offered the boys a ride home from their sleep over party and they agreed and got in the car.

(23,272 posts)... I hate reading stories like this. My wild 16 year old daughter has already wrecked one car.
Those poor families. My heart breaks for them.
