Comet Pan-Starrs to be visible on western horizon just after sunset for the next week or so . . .

The sun was rising behind a low cloud bank and there was a bright smear above it. I was wondering if it was a comet. Later I read about Pan-Starrs. I tried to see it tonight but it might be in line with the sun. I will try again tomorrow.
