There was much talk over the projected $273 Million in additional costs Texas will incur due to the 24,000 unplanned pregnancies that resulted from the state's 2011 defunding initiative. (My, it's interesting how a few hundred million dollars can change a person's moral convictions. Especially when it's only a small portion of the state's budget.)
No one is mentioning the educational expenses that these 24,000 children will demand.
According to the link: http://www.fastexas.org/study/exec/spending.php
1) The average Texas student cost was $11,642 (2009 dollars) when books were factored in.
2) Under Gov. Rick Perry, education costs gradually crept up to exceed the CPI by over 31 percent.
3) The cost of educating a single student rose 63% from 1999 - 2009.

If the average cost per student is $11,642 per year (2009) rate, a flat calculation would be 11,567 * 13 = $150,371.
I don't have the 2012-2013 cost per pupil numbers, but a simple calculation on the 2008-2009 numbers, with an simple 4% inflation rate over 13 years (K-12) would yield the following:
1) 2016-2017 = $14,164
2) 2017-2018 = $14,730
3) 2018-2019 = $15,320
4) 2019-2020 = $15,932
5) 2020-2021 = $16,570
6) 2021-2022 = $17,233
7) 2022-2023 = $17,922
8) 2023-2024 = $18639
9) 2024-2025 = $19,384
10) 2025-2026 = $20,160
11) 2026-2027 = $20,966
12) 2027-2028 = $21,805
13) 2028-2029 = $22,677
TOTAL COST TO EDUCATE ONE CHILD (sans food, medical, housing assistance) = $235,502
TOTAL COST TO EDUCATE 24,000 CHILDREN = $235,502 * 24,000 = $5,652,048,000
Note: The numbers above result in the same 63% inflationary increases as the school years 1999-2009.

Why haven't these additional financial burdens been mentioned by anyone in the media?
Adding in the $274 Million, this religious experiment will near the $6 Billion mark when all is said and done.
(And, again, that does not include any other social services that some of these 24,000 children will demand.)
