Here in Raleigh, we just had an ad on the teevee for North Dakota regarding fracking!

horizontal drilling! Whooppee! by the shale extraction industry, extolling the wonders of it all....I guess because our new and very regrettable wing nut governor McCrory and the gerrymandered set of even wingier-nut politicians are salivating at pretty much destroying the state......

They were showing the beautiful out-of-doors with a "clean" river running through. Happy music in the background.

Reminded me of those adds put on by the drug companies...families frolicking, pleasant music, then suddenly a voice in the background warning of the side effects: stroke, blindness, suicidal thoughts, etc. Problem here, of course, is that there is NO such voice in the fracking commercials--only shows how "beautiful" fracking is--like it's God's gift to the planet.

Totally CYNICAL stuff. Truly evil minds must have been at work here. Infuriating.

No end to how much they piss me off (and I used to work for one of those companies.....argggh!) I never bought in to the need to advertise - big waste of money and massive irritation to those who have to endure them.

A little education cutting here, squeezing the unemployed there, ruining the environment when/where they can, as long as it lines their pockets.

Did I say that I can't stand NC politicians?

They will probably start with Lee. Then they will probably move on to Moore and Chatham. Then the rest.

making false ads is probably the single most evil thing that businesses do. They totally manipulate people's minds en masse and it's ubiquitous. It's impossible to get away from them.
