Rep. Gohmert offers amendment defunding President Obama's golfing trips

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) proposed an amendment to the continuing spending resolution that would prevent the government from paying for President Barack Obama's golf trips, the Hill reported on Tuesday.

Gohmert called attention to the cancellation of public White House tours starting March 9 due to staffing reductions resulting from sequestration. He cited reports in conservative media that guessed the $1 million cost of Obama's trip means "341 federal employees could have kept their jobs and not been furloughed if the president had not taken his last golf outing."

Gohmert announced that he had submitted his amendment to the House Rules Committee. "None of the funds made available by a division of this act may be used to transport the president to or from a golf course until public tours of the White House resume," reads the amendment.

his authority. President Obama is the head of the Executive Branch and can do whatever he sees fit to do with funding going to the Executive Branch the same as Congress. He has no authority to sequester the Executive Branch. This idiot is nothing but a pain in the ass to the President.

to the WH's petty and childish decision to close down WH tours, tours that had been set up months and months in advance, and blame sequester.

Petty and childish pissing battles just yield more petty and childish pissing battles.

Enough is enough! I wish I could send all these children, and yes, that includes the president too, to their rooms without supper!
