Nice video leading up to Civil Society Day: Do the people of Europe feel ‘European’?

To what extent do the citizens of Europe feel ‘European’? Do they know their rights as Europeans? And what more can the EU’s institutions do to connect with the citizens of Europe?

These questions will be among those being asked at the 2013 Civil Society Day to be held at the Brussels office of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) on Wednesday, March 6. The event, the fourth of its kind and which this year coincides with the European Year of Citizens, will be streamed live on euronews from 09:00-17:30 CET.

The byline for this year’s Civil Society Day is As European as we can get! and it seeks to examine Europeans’ rights, the enforcement of these rights and what role they play on both a local and European level.

To get a taste of what will be on the agenda, watch the EESC’s trailer video below. There’s also more information on the Civil Society Day page of the EESC website

A "Civil Society Day"? I had never heard of that. Doesn't sound like anything the GOP would be interested in.
