The American people are becoming numbed by the actions of our government. It's one "crisis" after another. If it's not the debt limit, it's the fiscal cliff. If it's not the fiscal cliff, it is sequestration. It never seems to end. Nothing is ever totally resolved. It is only "kicked down the road" until the next crisis.
No one is held responsible and no one pays a price. The only game the media can play is "Who's winning??"

Sometimes I think they are just making chit up. I never heard of these terms until a few years ago. I think the R's are just good at manufacturing crises. I think that is because it is about the only manufacturing that hasn't been outsourced.

(95,247 posts)People who do not wish be part of our representative, democratic government, but rather wish to destroy our representative, democratic government, and replace it with a government based on a rural and propertied fraction which fancies itself a petty aristocracy entitled to rule by virtue of its racial superiority, have gained a significant lodgement in our capital. They mean to wreck, in hope that amid the wreckage, they will rule.

It ISN'T just the Republicans, as bad as they are, that are screwing us royally. It's virtually every person connected with Washington DC. The pols, the media, the lobbyists, the military, the intelligence agencies, etc ad nauseum. ALL OF THEM.
