Citizens of France are instructed to receive emergency medical services in the USA

And return to France or other countries to receive other medical treatments. Why, because health care in the US is too expensive. Our prescriptions and health care is marked up and there is not any control of cost. We will never get the cost under control without having a single payer system. Too many of congressional members are going for the money in their pockets. When I hear bragging about what a wonderful health system we have in the USA and talk to citizens of France and the UK and I realize they do not have the long lines and lack of good health care I know it is all lies. Why do we encourage Medicaid patients to get their health care in emergency rooms at a high cost i just wonder what we are thinking.

You NEVER see Europeans taking to the street to demand a US style healthcare system. Not even in Canada.

...if you are *already in* the US and have an emergency get treated in the US to take care of the emergency... but then get the hell out when you can for follow-up care.

(I read it the other way at first too)

We go to another country and the retail bill is less than the copay and deductible.

Even Medicare has a better handle on the cost but VA has even a better plan. We have a drug plan for seniors which paid to big pharma a year before the first prescription was ever filled. We hear members of Congress Always telling us to cut spending, they are the ones who voted this plan in action. The VA already had a prescription plan to get the best prices but they passed this up for their plan. You can purchase the same drugs in other countries and we pay big bucks for the same. What a shame.

France has a much better health care system than we do, not on your life. Americans might have good facilities but too many hands in the pot, cost is too high.
