The local impact of sequestration

(ohio) Whitehall, workers at DSCC to suffer under sequestration
....

The secretary of defense has labeled them “doomsday” cuts, and Whitehall Mayor Kim Maggard agrees.

She said the furloughs will amount to a minimum $1.5 million loss in income tax for the city. Add in the impact to local businesses supported by the base, and Maggard estimates it will be closer to $2 million — about a 10 percent cut to the city’s general revenue fund.

As a result, the mayor put on hold plans to create a new recreation center for the city. The city also put the kibosh on conferences and training and won’t purchase new vehicles. And it will have to cut some capital projects, such as work on curbs and gutters.

....

It could be even more significant for Thomas Spyker, 25, a police officer at DSCC.

He is worried about paying bills, but he’s more worried that late payments will ruin his credit rating. If that happens, he said, he might lose his security clearance. If he loses that, he might lose his job.

that its time to stop supporting republicans. My guess is that a great majority of people who work in law enforcement support republicans based on morality based issues. I know a lot os those people.!
