"Freedom fries" Congressman: Dick Cheney going to hell for Iraq war

By: Eric W. Dolan

(RAW STORY) Republican Rep. Walter Jones of North Carolina said Saturday that former Vice President Dick Cheney would likely end up in hell because of his role in the Iraq war.

At a Young Americans for Liberty conference, Jones said it was impossible under current law to prosecute a president for intentionally manipulating intelligence reports to make the case for war. He explained he co-authored a bill to change the law, but the legislation was killed in committee by his Republican colleague Lamar Smith of Texas.

“I have no malice towards Lamar, I have respect for him,” Jones remarked. “But that again is the problem. Congress will not hold anyone to blame. Lyndon Johnson’s probably rotting in hell right now because of the Vietnam War, and he probably needs to move over for Dick Cheney.”

Jones initially voted in favor of the Iraq war in 2002. He is infamous called for “French fries” to be renamed “freedom fries” after France refused to support the U.S. invasion of the country.

This guy was all for the war, helping the administration with their smear campaign of anyone who saw through the bullshit. If anyone will be with Cheney in hell, it's this hypocrite.

Meanwhile, Cheney wins the game here where it matters. He'll never answer for his crimes, his blood wealth will never be taken from his family, he'll receive the best care until he expires. He won, America lost.

so we wrote new laws, ex post facto (in violation of our own Constitution), to permit us to put them up for trial.

Why, one of the nations that sat in judgment was itself guilty of the very crime for which the Germans stood in the docket, yet that caused only a brief tremor of conscience.

Surely a "useful idiot" like Republican Representative Walter Jones can find a way to scrub his hands clean of the very filth he now decries, at least long enough to find a means to put other, "guiltier" parties on the block.

Cover your own, Congresscritter. Cover your own. It won't spare you the tortures of hell, but it will assuage your mortal conscience.

and by this, this guy seems to have had that moment where he has to admit to himself that I don't believe this bullshit anymore. That to me is a sign of something going on in that space between his ears.
did I read this wrong??
