Embattled Nevada Assemblyman Steven Brooks attempts to purchase gun in Sparks

The saga of embattled Assemblyman Steven Brooks has come to Sparks.
News of his whereabouts hit statewide media after he attempted to purchase a gun at Scheels on Thursday. Brooks, D-North Las Vegas, is now staying with relatives in Sparks, police said.
Brooks is on delayed status for gun purchase as the Nevada Department of Public Safety performs a background check to determine whether there is disqualifying criteria to prevent him from purchase. The department has three business days, or until Tuesday, to make that decision, NDPS Chief of Records and Technology Pat Conmay said.
... Brooks first came to Sparks after Carson City Sheriff’s deputies served him two protective orders out of Carson City Justice Court.
