Just drove 160 miles across Missouri less than 24 hours after the worst snow storm in 2 years and the roads were CLEAR!!
I was not on an interstate highway. Took state roads the entire trip, mostly 2 lane.
I was amazed. What a great job the state did clearing its highways.
Snow plow drivers, I salute you!!

I was pleased with the job they have done.

(40,416 posts)As I live adjoining the Manistee National Forest all around me, it's probably fortunate that I live on a school bus route. They keep the roads plowed.
Unfortunately, my driveway isn't so lucky and it is too much for me with just a shovel. My neighbors help a little, knowing my situation, but for the fourth time in a month, I am trapped with car in garage and no egress until some of it melts. Rain is forecast in a couple of days.

(9,893 posts)My Mom lives not that far from you over near the Lake.
Her road is paved now, but our road has never been snowed in for long thanks to our county road commission.
I hear you about that driveway. You have really nice neighbors, like many folks in rural areas. I have no doubt but what you let them know how much you appreciate their help. I've seen your posts before and you seem like a really nice person.
It's not fun being snowed in, though.
Hang in there!

(2,135 posts)Darn thing tore my mail box out of its post with the force of the snow it threw on it. Or maybe it clipped it, I don't know. Technically it wasn't my mail box yet. I've also done the mock anger at them when they throw road snow onto the driveway I just finished shoveling.
Those guys are awesome, though. Thank you guys for all you've done this week for us in Mid-Mo.
