Rush Limbaugh said Thursday that for the first time he’s “ashamed” of the United States — this as President Barack Obama and Democrats plead to the public to urge Congress to reach a deal on the sequester.

“Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time in my life, I am ashamed of my country,” the conservative commentator said on his radio program.

He added: “To have our common sense and intelligence insulted the way it’s being is — it just makes me ashamed.”

Limbaugh’s comments come as Obama and Democrats are warning Americans about what they say will happen if Congress doesn’t avert sequestration, the automatic $1.2 trillion in federal spending cuts over the next decade that are scheduled to take effect March 1.

I used to have problems with one (it was stress aggravated in college, like a stint of stuttering I had at the time). It was, literally and figuratively, a pain in the ass. I had to wrap it up several times a day or else I'd bleed all over my pants, my friend's Civic, the stool in the darkroom and my bed sheets. Oh, and pulling the tape off wasn't fun, either.

I have never had a pilonidal cyst, thank God, but I have had semi-frequent boils in other places (including one place you NEVER want to have one!), and have had to load up on antibiotics as well as foul-smelling icthammol ointment...so I do sympathise with you. With Limbaugh, though, it seems awfully "convenient" that he had one when he did...not to mention getting the doctor vouch for it for his draft board. Of course, he comes from Cape Girardeau "old money" so calling in a favour wouldn't have been too hard.

I wasn't drafted, I enlisted, so I don't know how it was during the draft. In my experience, if I would have had a boil when I went for my enlistment physical it wouldn't have DQ'd me; it would probably have been "come back when it's cleared up."
