On Republicans and transvaginal probes

These are the only reasons for this legislation:

To try and shame and humiliate the woman out of having an abortion; to cause her as much psychological pain as possible and to strip of her dignity and humanity.

This is serious, and it reflects like nothing else I can think of, the depravity, cruelty and sickness of those proposing and supporting such legislation.

I think there will be a huge backlash from the increasing number of states trying to forcibly violate a woman. And Democrats shouldn't lose a single opportunity to use this to campaign against those republicans supports it.

"IN Senate committee approves abortion measures"

From the new bill -

"...women receiving abortion-inducing drugs at Indiana abortion clinics would be required to receive an ultrasound before and after dispensing RU-486."

Senator Vaneta Becker (R-Evansville) says "the bill places greater requirements on mostly low-income women."

And she notes the legislative proponents of the bill are men -

“I don’t think they fully understand because I don’t think they’ve ever had a vaginal ultrasound. And so maybe we should see if we can work on that as well.”

Said Indiana Right to Life legislative director, Sue Swayze -

“I got pregnant vaginally. Something else could come in my vagina for a medical test that wouldn’t be that intrusive to me. So I find that argument a little ridiculous.”

they would.

This has everything to do with sick fantasies of dominating women and nothing to do with health, safety or human life.

If they really used this awful procedure against the republicans in a smart way, it would totally destroy the republican party. I only wish we had dems who would insist on going on every talk show possible and super-size publicize this.

say all the women Democrats should be screaming about this, I think it would actually be much more productive to have it come from the men (standing alongside the women). We need to make "war on women" a mantra.

with every member of congress who supports the law coming out and saying they will go the mattresses on this one. That it is simply unacceptable to vote against this law and not expect consequences. This has to become VERY PUBLIC (yeah, I'm screaming - beats grinding my teeth into dust).

to undergo a transvaginal ultrasound would file rape charges against the Governor and every single member of the legislature that voted for this.

Isn't the very definition of rape non-consensual penetration?

"under duress". Have it witnessed. Have someone with you making a video, if at all possible.

I sincerely hope the case gets made that an unwanted transvaginal ultrasound can be correctly equated with rape.
