Show Hyatt that it can't push the LGBT community around

Take action here: http://action.sumofus.org/a/hyatt-lgbt/?sub=uh

The Hyatt Hotel chain is known to be one of the most abusive employers in the US. Its employees face poverty wages and crushing workloads, and many are seriously injured on the job. That’s why labor unions, religious communities, feminist organizations, and gay rights advocates have called for a global boycott of Hyatt.

But last week, when The Funders for LGBTQ Issues decided to honor the boycott and move a retreat from a Hyatt to an independent hotel, Hyatt tried to impose a $40,000 penalty - far more than the retreat was originally going to cost.

Hyatt is one of the biggest corporate bullies around, so this kind of behavior is nothing new. In fact, the SumOfUs community has already stood against Hyatt’s intimidating-- last summer, more than 60,000 of spoke out when a housekeeper at Indianapolis Hyatt was dismissed after she testified to the city council about the awful conditions and subcontracting abuses she faced.

The only thing that’s different now is that Hyatt isn’t content to silence workers who speak out against its unfair practices, it’s targeting consumers. We need to come together now and show Hyatt that it can’t escape criticism bullying people speak out.

for any other reason, including assigning staffers to another project. the staffers must stay at the location that was paid for and not take alternative tasks, thus generating additional money for hyatt. send one person to verify this is not done

as soon as they knew the group canceled, thus getting paid twice.
