The GOP Strategy Of More Children Less Food

We have a growing national population with growing needs for infrastructure and basic services. The GOP plan of less government, less firefighters, police, first responders and less decent health care for more ciitzens is about as sensible as having more and more children in your family while cutting the food budget. Less food for more children. That is their logic.

One reason that Sandy victims had to wait so long is that there were fewer services to help clean up the mess. If we had multiple disasters like Sandy we would have areas where there would be no response. The way it looks FEMA is positioned to handle only one disaster at a time. Add a multiple event or multiple communities that are devastated and the populace will be left to their own resources.

The other problem is that the public expects the police, firefighters, and first responders to bail them out and help while paying these same people a minimum wage to risk their lives to save them. And if they get hurt or permanently disabled on the job, they are on their own. And military vets are no different, once they come out of the military with disabilities they are on their own. And when there is a budget that will cut aid and benefits for these same warriors, the public is silent. When the GOP comes up with cuts in public services where thousands of veterans work, the public is ok with putting these same vets out of work, because public jobs are not jobs and vets are takers.

It all goes back to the acceptance of a GOP conservative mantra - "more children less food". That is the formula for a growing US population. So if you are a Republican whose ass gets whipped in a tornado, hurricane, or other natural disaster, don't complain if no one shows up. Fix your owne damned house, fix your own broken arm, swim out of your own flooded area. You get exactly what you keep voting for.
