1. Only hope we have is they shut the government down is that they people who voted for

them are effected by the closure. Then you will see how angry they get. These baggers don't realize it will effect them.

4. That happened when Gingrich did it nearly 20 years ago

It was a PR disaster for the Republicans and one of the things that removed all support for them in their impeachment attempt. Gingrich was gone at the end of that term.

It was a bad idea then and it's an even worse idea now. If they do it again, it will blow up in their piggy faces even more spectacularly than it did in a good economy.

Republicans will never let go of any bad idea, it seems.

5. I remember that. You would think they'd learned from that mistake. No wonder

8. That's how it's been going

Republicans get the WH and grow government because they make themselves rich. When a Democrat gets in office they want to shrink some spending because it makes everyone better.

When Bush was in the WH you never heard the republicans saying anything bad about the deficit. Cheney even said that Reagan proved deficits didn't matter. It's only when a Democrat takes office do they get all pissy, because they know Democrats want to make everyone better.
