It was planned and it was deliberate.
War Crimes.
Sociopathy.
Torture.
Slaughter.
Lies.
After Lies.
Upon Lies.
No Accountability.

Yes, this is a repost of a thread I did last year when that shit came out of Bush's mouth.
George W. Bush. Dick Cheney. Rice. Wolfowitz. Feith. Card. Fleischer. Libby. Rumsfeld. Rove. Miller. Matalin. Bolton. Powell. Perle. Kristol...
All the enablers.
All the criminals.
What they said about and did to those who tried to stop it at risk of their careers: Clarke. Wilson. Kwiatkowski. Diplomats and Military Commanders for Change, Byrd, Moore, Kiesling...
Tell the story of what the fuckers did ten years after, and fifteen years after, and twenty...
Never forget any of them.
Ever.

(171,094 posts)we do need to remember on occasion, as much as it only galls us. Imagine (most of) the people in those images and their loss.
Thanks, Hissyspit.

Not a day goes by that I don't think of them. Their "leader" led them down the wrong path for the sake of his ego.

(1,113 posts)I've figured why watching Hubris was, for me, a horror. It put those names and faces together again. "George W. Bush. Dick Cheney. Rice. Wolfowitz. Feith. Card. Fleischer. Libby. Rumsfeld. Rove. Miller. Matalin. Bolton. Powell. Perle. Kristol...". I thought about the parents who had to buy equipment for their sons and daughters who were fighting in Iraq without the equipment they needed. I thought of the hiding of our murdered servicemen being secretly flown back to the US. They were murdered by Bush/Cheney. It opened wounds that never healed because they were infected by the cabal in Washington, who laughed while they were getting rich.

(6,960 posts)OMG, what a powerful reminder of the awfulness of Bushco and its war of choice against so many innocents.
Powerful post, Hissyspit. It provokes anew all my loathing of those PNACers and their aiders and abetters on both sides of the aisle... mostly the repuke side but many spineless Dems too who voted for IWR and didn't speak out at the time. Fuck them all. May they one day reap what they have sown while they are here on earth and then rot in hell.
It was an abomination when Bush was appointed POTUS by the SCOTUS in December 2000. The war the Bushites planned and the carnage it wrought just makes that action all the worse.
Gosh, sorry for the rant but seeing those images makes me as angry and sad now as when it all happened. Thank God for DU which has been my refuge through these years.
Thank you, Hissyspit.

8 LONG YEARS I lived with acid re-flux, knowing full-well.. what G.W. Bush was doing.
I couldn't watch it anymore.. I can't rip-the-scabs- off the wounds anymore....
I thank all the brothers and sisters her at D.U... who persevered all these years.....
We are not out of the woods.. it is getting worse.....all I can say.. keep your kids at home safe, find a loved one you can hang on to.......
Times are going to get very tough... find someone you can hang onto..... kiss your dog and love your kids.... that is all we have left.....

(30,058 posts)If Benghazi is so terrible and the worse failure then I guess 4000 lives is not as important as 4 according to McCain and Graham. When is Ted Cruz going to go crazy on Bush? I read an article by Joe Wilson published in the paper at the beginning and what did he get for his information, his wife was outed and lives of other CIA members was endangered because of the outing. I knew this was a shame and another result we have is the thumb being pressed on Iran is now dead and we are trying to prevent the nuclear weapons from being developed in Iran, it probably would not have happened if Saddam was still in power. What a mess. Thank you Rachel

(8,124 posts)We have been thru 12 years of gut-wrenching Hell.
The MSM is not going to help... NO ONE is going to help. We are on OUR OWN!!
We are all forced to survive or DIE in these times. I would like to say that we are all going to SURVIVE!
Our Government.. Congress and Senate.. have lost control.... forces beyond us are controlling the USA.
Band together.. hug your kids.. grab your dog.... protect what little purchasing power you have left.... Know that we are in transition.. we HAVE to come out the other end of the tube for civilization to survive....

(12,471 posts)Aside from the fact that our former "leaders" should be in jail for war crimes, why is this news?
We all knew about it back when they started the war.
We all know that 9/11 was an inside job, whether they let it happen on purpose, or made it happen on purpose.
What's the big deal?
We know that Obama stated that he wanted to look ahead, and forget about the past. He could have easily brought those mf's up on charges. But then again, they can be brought up on charges as there is no statute of limitations on war crimes, nor is there one on murder, and they are GUILTY!
And as a result of going to war on the credit card, look at what happened to the surplus that Clinton worked so hard to get, after so many years of RepubliCON spending, and blaming the Democrats.
Then the nail in the coffin, was the "financial crisis," due to lax regulation by the Bush administration.
Perhaps they should not only be held on war crimes and murder charges, but treason.
At any rate, this is not new news to me.
I'm going to wager that this Hubris thing isn't even news to most people now. It's preaching to the MSNBC choir...I doubt it's doing much else to influence anyone but the already converted.

(16,350 posts)Won't happen. That, to me, is just as criminal. I don't know why our DoJ and the Congress let them get away with it, but that they did There have been no repercussions whatsoever and so the very worst precedent has been set. People at high enough levels commit a big enough crime and it's like it never happened.

(8,554 posts)This little girl will always be the image I think of when I'm called upon to evaluate my country's dreadful criminal Invasion and Occupation of Iraq. I was hoping that they would show it, right at the very end of "Hubris", when the music became mournful, and the sobs began catching in my throat.
Five yr old Samar Hassan, a child whose parents were both shot dead in their family car by our soldiers in Tal Afar, Iraq.
Here is a slide show with audio commentary by the war correspondent, Chris Hondros, a photographer with Getty Images, who was embedded with that patrol on the evening of January 18, 2005.

The one of the attack that I posted, with her bloody little hands up like that, as tho she's asking, "Why?", simply broke my heart when I first saw it right here on DU that awful week back in 2005.
I was saddened all over again during the Libya bombardment, when I learned that Chris had been killed doing his job there.
(edited to add)
Here is the link to the DU thread when I found out about what had happened to poor Samar Hassan and all of the six children who were in the backseat of that doomed car:

Chris Hondros' bloody images of that attack went all the way to the top, were plopped on the table at the Pentagon for discussion.
Thank you for linking to that extraordinary photo tribute to Chris from Fayetteville; I hadn't seen it! Just in case you missed this one, here's another:

They sincerely do not care. They even gloat that they "won"...Because "winning" means everything to them.
All of them made out like bandits (literally) and are living nice, comfortable lies...I mean, lives. Our anger is probably quite a source of amusement for them if they are even aware of it.
