Perhaps it was a leading fragment? They both have tracks pretty much right over the Urals.

A scientist was quoted as saying that somewhere here in GD or LBN.

...and said the time lag between last night's meteorite and DA14 was too great and made it very unlikely that the meteorite was a leading fragment.

The thought just occurred to me - Dr Tyson is the exact authority I'd want to ask.
