Have people lost faith in their government?

If so, where do we go from here? It just seems people are growing weary of the different face same type of policy shenanigans. True enough there is a difference between the two parties and I'd much rather see a Democrat in power but I'm not seeing any type of hard core, meaningful, change that I and many others hoped for. Maybe my cynicism alarm is sounding stronger today but this is how I feel.

TWO generations have been told repeatedly (with little push back) that government is a "bad thing".. How can we be surprised that many (most?) have little faith in it ?

The Democrats would be better if they had the power. Even in 2008 we did not have enough power in the Senate. And one reason why the Democrats have so much trouble is that even though they won the elections they face even more money against them than they did before.

The GOP has always been able to throw roadblocks that virtually stop positive forward movement. Obama does not help Demos when he calls out Congress when he should be directly calling out the GOP and even individual members.

The system works

The system works better when every tea party and third party obstructer loses elections in 2014 and 2016 and 2018 and 2020.

I don't ever want to change anything from the President Obama agenda continuing decades and forever and a day more.

If one hasn't seen change, one hasn't opened their eyes wide enough to see that 10% of something is better than 100% of nothing.

And being that Jeb/Rubio will IMHO be the ticket in 2016 for the republicans, any vote not for the democratic nominee then is directly a vote for Jeb/Rubio.

Then ask if he will give you even 1% of anything you want.

so the answer to your question is a resounding NO.

It started with the JFK assassination and the subsequent, clumsy coverup known as the Warren Report. Then Vietnam piled on, then Watergate, Iran hostages, then Reagan, Iran Contra, El Salvador, on and on, the faith and confidence in our government has been chipped away until the vast majority of people are desperately cynical, just hoping to survive.
