I can understand how that looks like the only tactic that can work. Hopefully, the American people are paying attention.

who hate Obama who are doing this. I hope they can't get away with it, because if they do, it will go on and on and on for every person the President wants in.

The vote's on Friday. I suspect Reid already knows he's got 60 votes.

4. No, not yet. Just has to meet a 60 vote threshold first to be confirmed.

Hopefully there really are 5 Repubs who don't want to be total assholes who will let him get confirmed. Problem is, the vote is on Friday, and if it fails--meaning that someone has lied to Reid--we will all have to wait a couple weeks to try again (with Hagel) or begin the whole process over again with someone else (hope not).

back for endorsing Pres Obama in 2008.

Majority Leader Harry Reid called the move “a shame” as he announced on the floor of the Senate that he was unable to reach an agreement with the top Republican on the Armed Services Committee to avoid such a delay. Reid filed a motion to end the filibuster, which he said he expected to vote on Friday, at which point Democrats believe they will have enough votes to confirm Hagel’s appointment.
