How long will it take before we start seeing the savings

from getting out of Iraq and the draw-down in Afghanistan?

Or, since the military has gotten used to the huge amount of money they've been given over the last 12+ years and keep any savings we could be using for infrastructure, education and healthcare?

I can't understand why savings can't be pulled out of the military without downgrading our forces/strength?

I wasn't paying much attention back then. At least no where near what I see/know/cringe at today.

we could reduce our insane military expenditures & devote more money to domestic purposes like education, infrastructure, & maybe even health care.

But the Military-Industrial Complex quickly cam up with new threats so we had to keep building tanks, planes & bombs. Actually, the term used wasn't "Peace Bonus;" it was Peace Dividend.

so magnificently from these wars do understand. That's why they buy our politicians so that there will never be a majority in Congress that will have the balls to cut out all that corporate welfare.

I forget how much it cost/month in Iraq. I realize there are expenses in coming home, but a lot of that expense is what we pay whether they are sitting in the US or moving equipment home.

Just curious.
