This photo is priceless. Seated next to Ted is his antithesis, a real musician by the name of Thomas Lauderdale who is founder of small orchestral group, the Pink Martinis, out of Portland. Thomas is a liberal, Occupy Movement supporter, openly gay civil rights activist who favors gun control and classical music. Photo was from Occupy Democrats Facebook page.

(3,059 posts)I was kind of hoping he would try it. We all know he'd have thrown a hissy-fit when stopped from carrying it in, screamed and yelled about his rights. I would have loved to have seen him marched out in cuffs. Of course, he'd probably crap his pants.

The truth of the matter is Nugent could have "caught" something...anything...had he engaged in a dialogue with Lauderdale.

(2,252 posts)...Ok, I'm from Oregon, I rejoice in being pedantic.
The band is Pink Martini. No 's'.
It's a habit I acquired back in the 60's, speaking to my 86 year old grandmother, who was trying to be cool and hip, "Nana, it's Cream!!, not 'The Creams'".
I'm so glad...

(15,262 posts)Pink Martini is a 13-member little orchestra from Portland, Oregon, formed in 1994 by pianist Thomas Lauderdale. They draw inspiration from music from all over the world crossing genres of classical, jazz and old-fashioned pop.
Pink Martini has twelve instrumentalists (and sometimes travels with string sections), and performs its multilingual repertoire on concert stages and with symphony orchestras throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Northern Africa, Australia and New Zealand and North America.
