Grossman, 63, who seeks the Republican nomination, said he wants to challenge the Republican establishment by running conservative candidates across the state.
While he said some people have expressed interest, Grossman had no declared candidates on Tuesday.
Grossman announced his candidacy Tuesday morning with about a half-dozen supporters at a chilly, barren lot off of Rhode Island Avenue, about a block away from Revel casino.
2014 could be quite an amusing year indeed...

(5,029 posts)Somehow I don't see Christie getting all worked up over this guy.

(31,706 posts)...start with just a handful. The wingnuts are blaming him for President Obama's victory (ain't it great when your life and though processes are so simple)...so I wouldn't discount this guy becoming an irritant...

(9,494 posts)But thanks to the general stupidity of the voting public, Democrats just LOVE Chris Christie! I have actually been accused of being a troll on this message board by a DU member who didn't like my challenging her "Christie Love Fest" postings.
NJ is my state and I sadly believe that, as Blue as it is, it will reelect Christie in a landslide because he acts like a nice guy while he destroys our school system, our healthcare system and awards billions of tax dollars to his rich friends.

(24,438 posts)and felt that he deserved a modicum of respect for doing so. However, some of the postings and ravings about Christie here and elsewhere were IMHO a bit excessive (i.e. wanting him to become a Democrat).
BTW "Newark Ward Leader"? Is that the new "Chicago Politics" or "Union Thug" meme from the teabaggers?

(11,364 posts)... certainly sounds like a dog whistle. I was wondering if it might be some sort of racist hint. The conservatives use "inner city" that way.

I wouldn't give Christie the "nut job" label, but he's a conservative to be sure.

(30,481 posts)But many here do talk highly of a union busting bigot. I have pointed it out multiple times when I have seen people speak of him fondly. Even after showing them they talk about him as if he is so pragmatic. The respect shown here for a man who stands completely opposed to even the centrists of the Democratic party surprises me. He makes Joe Lieberman look like a progressive.

(9,494 posts)Except for the fact that I am a life long Democrat and a state resident I would laugh and say they deserve him. How he gets away with extreme right wing ideology and stealing from the poor and the middle class and giving to the millionaires, and still get love from so many Dems is beyond me.
