Why do the GOP get two responses and we get none?
Basically it's three speeches from 3 conservatives: Obama, Rubio, and Rand Paul. Seems kind of lopsided.
Why no liberal or progressive opportunity to respond? Not fair.

(114,904 posts)And lumping Obama with Rubio and Paul is just dim.
I urge you to inform yourself about how this works. It's not about liberal and conservative responses. It's about the party out of power responding. The official repub response is from Rubio.
If Bernie Sanders, for instance, wanted to, he could give a progressive response.

(21,763 posts)Dear Admins,
Yet again I make my plea for unrec. Please... I beg you... Give us the way to express that we dis-agree with a post without forcing us to give it a bump and more exposure. Come on... Putting Obama in with turds like Rubio and fuck Rand Paul? This HAS to be worthy of un-rec... How about this... Not only is un-rec transparent but has no impact on how rec/greatest/whatever currently works, it is it's own number associated with an OP? Please? Thanks!

(7,643 posts)Obama recently described himself as an 80's style moderate Republican. Pretend otherwise if it makes you feel better. Rubio and Paul are right-wing garbage. There is a huge portion of the political spectrum that will not be represented tonight on TV.

(8,244 posts)There's a real difference on some issues. But when you look at his policy toward the big banks, oil companies, the military/security industry, media and communications consolidation, international trade policy, constitutional protections from government surveillance, etc. ....I think he's pretty conservative.
