At least two members of the Massachusetts Congressional delegation are planning to make a statement at the State of the Union address in Washington, although their point of view won't necessarily be portrayed through their words.
Democratic U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Democratic U.S Rep. Edward Markey have announced that they both plan to bring anti-gun violence activists to President Barack Obama's annual speech, signaling their support for the administrations renewed push for stricter gun control laws, following the shooting deaths of 20 children and six teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.
Warren will bring Dorchester Pastor Kim Odom, whose 13-year-old son Steven was shot and killed while walking home from playing basketball with friends in 2007.

Markey's guest is Ann Marie Crowell of Saugus, a mother of three who lost her son Brian to an accidental shooting at a friend's house on Christmas Eve in 1997.
"I am honored to attend the State of the Union with Rep. Ed Markey to keep Brian's memory alive," Crowell said. "It is my mission to raise awareness and hopefully prevent another family from having to go through the heartache of losing and burying their child. Common sense gun safety practices will save lives."
