5. What bothers me

I don't pay much attention to the SOTU, and I'm definitely not a SOTU historian. But doesn't every president say, The State of the Union is strong?

Well, I beg to differ, and I would hope that Obama would refrain from that particular platitude and offer an accurate description of the state of the union.

6. I think the SOTU speech

...should be cancelled indefinitely. The Union is fucked until Democrats can get a majority in the legislative and judicial branches, and since the filibuster survives. Oh yeah, and until the secret MIC is cut in half, and taxes are raised on the 1%, and healthcare becomes universal, and the education system is un-privatized, and until the lobbyists are thrown out and K Street is shut down, and the NRA is abolished and assault rifles and their giant magazines are outlawed and background checks are serious and enforced.
