Seems like I used to read about one of them a week for the longest time. What happened? Did they go away?. Now I hardly read about one anymore.Anyone else notice this phenomenon?

If you mean Nato Black Hawk helicopters, a quick google search shows the last helicopter crash was in August in Afghanistan. But I'm not sure if instead you are talking about the other black helicopters - .

they were in Miami and Houston last week.
Several threads here on DU about some Army drills in those cities, which had some communities fairly upset.
