Mail service suspended in New England due to snowPROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) The U.S. Postal Service has suspended mail delivery and will keep post offices closed in all six New England states because of the blizzard that has dumped more than 2 feet of snow throughout the region.
Postal Service spokeswoman Christine Dugas says post offices in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island will remain closed Saturday.
She says it's an unusual move, but roads across much of New England have been closed or are impassable.
Heard we have two feet here. Hard to gauge with all the drifting etc. It is still blowing a lot but looks as if the snow has stopped. I won't go dig out the car until the wind slows - it will just blow the snow back in the driveway. So lucky for DU - I get to post more.
About 7AM 2/09/2013 in my driveway....

OP
That is the major (some would say only) redeeming quality of this weather. Lovely landscapes.

That's the neighbor kitty corner to me. I'm in a standard split - still too much house for me.

That tree will probably grow right into the house eventually. But it does look nice. They have a beautiful flowering dogwood right there too. And some electric pink Azaleas that I like to take pictures of when they bloom.

But I live in the PNW where we don't get much. That looks so cozy. I hope all of you guys up in that storm stay safe and warm and don't have any disruptions in power.
I was wondering why my shop orders jumped. People are staying home and surfing the web.

Here's from a couple of hours ago, Mr Pipi plowing the driveway.
