"Now is not the right time to wear a hoodie"

Police inundated with reported sightings of Christopher Dorner

...

Pasadena bail bondsmen Ishmael Trone urged law enforcement officers and black men to be cautious while Dorner remains on the loose.

"You can't recklessly stop African Americans," Trone said. "We still have to insure that citizens believe the police are there to protect and serve. We should not ignite fear in the African American community."

With tensions running high, Trone said black men should avoid even the most banal confrontations with the police.

"Make sure you have your identification make sure you cooperate with the police; now is not the right time to wear a hoodie," Trone said.

And the threat from amped up police officers extends beyond the black community. Two Latina women in Torrance were shot by officers who thought their car looked like the one driven by Dorner. The car did not match the description.

Black men over the age of 12, just stay indoors to avoid trigger happy popo.

This is a serious question. The "authorities" put out these warnings as if everybody has a spare tan jacket that they can pull out of their suburban closet and wear instead of their hoodie. Lots of people only have one coat - a hoodie. Lots of people have to go out in the evening because their jobs require it. It's not so easy to simply stop looking like a black man in a hoodie if you happen to be a black man who wears a hoodie.

This kind of thing really irritates me.

Like if you're wearing a hoodie, it isn't their fault if you get shot?

How about if they be more careful?

What about old white guys who wear hoodies? This shit REALLY gets on my nerves. These fuckers think they can shoot anybody they please because they're "on edge". What bullshit. If you hadn't made an enemy of almost every segment of the Los Angeles population, you might get more sympathy.

Being black with a hoodie (or apparently Asian, old ,and delivering papers) could cause the police to shoot you.

sitting on the curb while cops - three cop cars with lights flashing - searched his Mercedes. He seemed calm enough and was telling the cops how to disassemble his trunk to look further, from what I could tell.
